Care Foundation was formally founded in July 2012 by Mr. Adam Hui Yang. It is a first-level special fund under the Zhongshe Social Work Development Foundation.
Care Foundation is committed to organizing a range of resources to support non-governmental charity institutions caring for disabled orphans and cooperating with hospitals, universities and professional organizations to explore and analyze the standard of care and support provided to China's disabled orphans. The foundation also devoted to building the most effective aid model through training social workers, and enhancing the general public's awareness of the need to help disabled orphans through public campaigns.

Care Foundation has since its launch focused closely on children in need, especially disabled orphans. It will fully explore and organize quality social resources to participate in the establishment and widespread adoption of non-governmental standards related to saving and assisting disabled orphans. It will continue to make efforts to effectively support those non-governmental children’said organizations and improve the living environment of Chinese disabled orphans.

Care Foundation donated ¥100,000 to Fujia Disabled Orphan Home and ¥150,000 to Shepherd’s Field, two non-governmental orphaned and disabled children relief organizations the fund visited and determined to support in 2014. The money was to be spent treating children with congenital heart disease at the two orphan homes.

Care Foundation worked with Beijing New Day Foster Home on a year-long project compiling A Guide for the Construction and Services of Non-governmental Orphaned and Disabled Children Relief Agencies (Pilot Edition). The guide was completed through repeated practice, refining and assessment of relief processes. Based on the present situation of non-governmental orphaned and disabled children relief institutions, the guide summarizes the advanced technology and experience the leading agencies have accumulated in their past work.

The sub-project “Social Work Love Bridge” was successfully completed. China Youth University for Political Sciences, as the project leader, submitted A Summary Report on the Pilot Service and Research of Social Work Intervention in the Orphaned and Disabled Children Relief System. A service model that combines social work with the orphaned and disabled children relief system through a relaxed and scientific pilot service and practical research was explored.

The training was presented by an expert team from the Capability Building and Assess-ment Center, which focused on project management, brand influence and financial management. Tthe Love Hug activity was formally launched. Leveraging the social influence of well-known personalities as charity ambassadors and social entrepreneurs, and making full use of online interaction and communication, the activity advocated the concept of “hugging the loved ones beside you”, and, through feeling and passing on love, was aimed at appealing to the public to focus on orphaned and disabled children and personally taking part in the campaign. The whole activity lasted 22 days and more than 1,000 people were directly involved. Over 20 star ambassadors, including Qu Ying, Wang Ye and famous Phoenix Satellite TV hostess Xu Gehui, together with a number of social entrepreneurs, participated in the love relay.

The Chinese and English versions of A Guide for the Construction and Services of Non-Governmental Orphaned and Disabled Children Relief Agencies (Pilot Edition) were formally released. The guide covers six major aspects, including infrastructure and facility construction in non-governmental orphaned and disabled child relief organizations, primary education, nursing services and family fostering of orphaned and disabled children, and the management of orphaned and disabled children relief institutions. The guide will help non-governmental orphaned and disabled children relief organizations improve their facilities and services, and enhance their own development and the industry service level. It marks a solid step toward the construction of a standard system of evidence-based relief and fostering of orphaned and disabled children by non-governmental agencies.

Heart Choices Not Hard Choices, a workshop exploring the social worker+volunteer service model for the “Lighting Hope with Care”Project, is successfully held at New Day Foster Home in Beijing, the project’s practice base. Another “Happy Stress Reduction” group activity is held as part of “Lighting Hope with Care” project’s“Social Worker Love Bridge” program. In two activities called “holding an umbrella for someone else” and “combating stress”, the professional social worker team continued to help child care nurses experience and explore ways of relieving stress suited to each individual.
The last activity, themed “Unlimited Communication and Team Enhancement”, was adventure training. With the guidance of professional coaches, it was a successful team-building exercise for the Care Foundation management team and promoted the improvement of child care nurses’ social support system.
